A large part of Cyprus’ financial resources is based on tourism. Through the last 30 years many tourist structures have been raised in many near-sea areas. It’s a common notice that a large number of these areas have been brutally deformed both aesthetically and socially. We are proud to represent a small minority in this domain of development. Our office’s involvement in tourist structures has always been substantial. We have





comprehend is that when they fail to sustain the environment landscape they fail to attract good quality tourism. That leads to decay in a short timely fashion and in all levels of social life or economy. Our office has also contributed in the public dialogue for tourism and development with many articles and essays. Ideally the hotel or the resorts should be an extension of the local communities. designed small to large size hotels (such as Starion Beach Hotel) along with many tourist resorts and bungalow style accommodation. We have been always trying to subsume these buildings into the sensitive environment they inhabit. Respecting the landscape means preserving beauty. No tourist development can be successful without looming its surroundings. What most developers fail to





the possibility to assimilate the true social system of the local people. This fact is ultimately the most substantial task of positive tourism and it is exactly where ghetto style tourist developments like Ayia Napa or Protaras have failed. Our office has also made specific character tourist designs in areas of high importance environmental character. Such are projects in Akamas forest in the far northwest of Cyprus and projects for the rehabilitation of Troodos Mountain square.
