The term Specific Character is a definition for a category of projects, which have specific design needs that do not apply in everyday normal needs and social routines. The description also applies to projects that need extensive knowledge in a particular building technique of a particular historical style (Mr. Fereos dissertation was based on the Franco Byzantine timber roofed architecture of Cyprus. A modern example of that
One is built in Cyprus and the other was designed to be built in Fort Myers, USA. From a comparison of these two designs one can perceive the influence and utilization of traditional techniques in an effort to produce a church that has an absolutely modern style and at the same time a strong holdover connection to its historical origins. technique can be found in the church at Agios Nikolaos Camp). Other projects of specific character can be monasteries, churches, temples in general, monuments, reconstruction of historical heritage buildings and also land marks of various types. It is important to be said that we do not just copy the techniques that we inherited through our tradition. A vivid example can be the comparison of two designs concerning two orthodox churches.

A very important occasion was a group of small designs for Trooditissa Monastery along with a very difficult extension project of its main quarters. Perhaps the small shrine with the sitting bench at the entrance of the monastery can be described as one of our best designs ever. No matter how many times we go through this forest path we always make a stop and sit there. |
